Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and materials.
- Monitor and handle surgical supplies and equipment to ensure sterility and functionality.
- Transport patients to and from the operating suite and ensure their comfort and safety.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately in medical records.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe surgical procedures.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (CST) credential required.
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Valid Texas driver's license (if required for transport duties).
