Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields before surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies during operations
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to strict infection control protocols
- Count and manage surgical instruments and supplies
- Transport patients and specimens to appropriate departments
- Operate and maintain surgical equipment (e.g., endoscopes, power tools)
- Document procedural details in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience in acute care
- BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
- Knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA standards
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
