Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring all equipment and instruments are sterile and properly arranged.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Monitor and manage the sterile field during surgical operations.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure zero loss.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room and assist with pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately in medical records.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Operating Room Surgical Technician (CORST) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Attention to detail and the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as needed.
