Responsibilities
- Preoperative Preparation: Ensure operating rooms are properly set up and sterile before surgeries begin.
- Surgical Assistance: Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Equipment Management: Handle and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to strict hospital protocols.
- Patient Care: Communicate effectively with patients regarding procedures and provide comfort measures.
- Documentation: Accurately record medical data, supplies used, and patient observations.
- Emergency Support: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations during surgical operations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or CORL certification required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a surgical setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical procedures.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
