Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sterile items.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to prevent retained items.
- Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing the surgical site.
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Document patient medical histories and surgical procedures accurately.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credential.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
