Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and retracting tissues
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Count surgical supplies and instruments before/during/after procedures
- Prepare and transport specimens for laboratory analysis
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Operate surgical equipment (e.g., endoscopes, power tools) safely
- Document surgical cases accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods
