Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques
- Count surgical sponges, needles, and instruments before/after operations
- Coordinate instrument processing and inventory management
- Document procedural details in electronic health records
- Train junior staff on surgical protocols and equipment usage
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience in a hospital setting
- BLS/CPR certification maintained
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation for multiple specialties
- Ability to stand for extended periods in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and push/pull 100 lbs equipment
- Background check and drug screen clearance
