Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in acute care settings including ICU, ER, and Med-Surg units
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and document electronic health records accurately
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Adhere to hospital protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and critical patient conditions
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with Joint Commission standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas or compact state (TX license required within 30 days)
- Minimum 1-2 years of recent acute care experience in specialty unit
- ACLS, BLS, and relevant certifications (e.g., TNCC, PALS) based on assignment
- Graduate of accredited nursing program (ADN, BSN, or MSN)
- Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and protocols
- Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in fast-paced settings
- Flexibility for 8, 12, or 16-hour shifts with variable scheduling
