Responsibilities
- Assess patient health needs, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report significant changes to the charge nurse or provider immediately.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare standards.
- Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Adapt quickly to new environments and high-volume settings typical of travel nursing assignments.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Alaska (or compact state eligibility).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent clinical experience in a specialty area (ICU, Med-Surg, ER, or Telemetry preferred).
- BLS and ACLS certification required (others may be required based on specialty).
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen prior to start date.
