Responsibilities
- Conduct Clinical Assessments: Utilize evidence-based protocols to evaluate patient symptoms via phone or secure messaging and determine the appropriate level of care.
- Prioritize Care & Triage: Accurately categorize patient needs to direct them to the appropriate provider, urgent care, or emergency department to ensure timely treatment.
- Medication Management: Review and verify medication histories, checking for allergies and potential drug interactions before providing advice.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date Electronic Health Records (EHR) for all triage encounters, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provider Collaboration: Communicate complex cases effectively to physicians and care coordinators within the network.
- Patient Education: Provide clear, empathetic instructions to patients regarding home care, follow-up appointments, and symptom management.
Qualifications
- Education: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Nebraska.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care or emergency department nursing experience preferred; Triage experience is a major plus.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and secure communication platforms.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong empathy and patient-centric approach to care.
