Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity and prioritize emergency cases using ESI and START protocols
- Conduct comprehensive telephone triage for urgent care consultations
- Collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate care pathways
- Document assessments and interventions in Epic EMR systems
- Oversee patient flow and bed allocation in the emergency department
- Provide critical care education to patients and families
- Maintain compliance with JCAHO and HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Illinois (IL RN)
- Minimum 2 years ED or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficiency in triage assessment tools (ESI, EMTALA)
- Exceptional critical thinking and communication skills
- Experience with electronic medical records (Epic preferred)
- Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN) preferred
