Responsibilities
- Assess patients via telephone triage using established protocols and clinical judgment
- Provide urgent care guidance and emergency referrals based on acuity levels
- Document patient interactions accurately in Epic EHR systems
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Educate patients on self-care measures and appropriate healthcare resources
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Kentucky (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- ACLS/BLS certification required
- Strong proficiency in telephone triage protocols (e.g., ESI scale)
- Exceptional communication and critical thinking skills
- Experience with Epic EHR systems preferred
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
