Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures following strict safety protocols
- Process and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis ensuring chain of custody integrity
- Maintain accurate patient records and specimen labeling systems
- Operate automated laboratory equipment and troubleshoot basic technical issues
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy during blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize diagnostic workflows
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and infection control standards
Qualifications
- Current Minnesota Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy or related field
- CPR/BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EHR)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations
- Strong attention to detail and precision in specimen handling
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Valid Minnesota driver's license for potential specimen transport
