Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive initial assessments of patient symptoms via phone or secure messaging.
- Determine the urgency of patient needs and direct them to the appropriate care setting (ER, Urgent Care, or Primary Care).
- Provide accurate medical advice, symptom management education, and triage protocols.
- Document all interactions and patient assessments accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient flow.
- Identify potential health crises and facilitate rapid intervention when necessary.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Pennsylvania.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in Emergency Department or Urgent Care triage.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations and educate patients clearly.
- Proficiency in navigating Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions under pressure.
