As a Triage Nurse, you'll be the first point of contact for patients experiencing medical emergencies, utilizing your critical assessment skills to prioritize care and ensure optimal outcomes. Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize cases based on acuity using ESI protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records (EHR)
- Provide education to patients/families regarding emergency procedures and resources
- Monitor vital signs and interpret diagnostic results to detect clinical deterioration
- Coordinate with ancillary departments for efficient patient flow
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and JCAHO standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Nevada (NV RN)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficient in ESI triage methodology and emergency protocols
- Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
- Experience with Epic EHR preferred
