Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols
- Collaborate with physicians to prioritize critical cases and allocate resources
- Document triage decisions accurately in Epic EMR systems
- Provide clear communication to patients/families during high-stress situations
- Maintain compliance with TJC and CMS standards
- Train junior staff on triage protocols and crisis management
Qualifications
- Active RN license in California (CA RN)
- Minimum 3 years ED/urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficiency with ESI 5-level triage scale
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with sound judgment
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Spanish fluency highly valued in LA patient population
