Responsibilities
- Assess incoming patient calls and walk-ins to determine medical urgency and prioritize care
- Provide accurate triage using standardized protocols and clinical judgment
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Document patient encounters in EHR systems with precision and timeliness
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to coordinate patient care pathways
- Manage emergency department flow during peak periods
- Educate patients on home care instructions and follow-up protocols
Qualifications
- Current RN license in California (CA RN)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Exceptional communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during critical situations
- BSN or higher degree strongly preferred
- Experience with pediatric/adult triage protocols
