Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity using Emergency Severity Index (ESI) protocols
- Coordinate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient flow
- Maintain accurate electronic health records with detailed triage documentation
- Provide education to patients regarding emergency department procedures
- Monitor vital signs and initiate emergency interventions when necessary
- Collaborate with charge nurses to manage bed assignments
- Ensure compliance with JCAHO and OSHA standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact license)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Proficiency in ESI triage scale and emergency protocols
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication abilities in English and Spanish preferred
- Experience with Epic EHR system
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
