Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments in emergency department triage using ESI protocols
- Prioritize cases based on acuity levels and communicate critical findings to physicians
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely patient flow and care coordination
- Document clinical findings accurately in Epic EHR systems within established timeframes
- Provide patient education and emotional support to anxious families during triage
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for emergency services
- Maintain compliance with TJC and CMS standards for emergency care
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas with minimum 2 years emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Valid Texas driver's license if required for transport duties
- Experience with ESI triage scale and emergency department workflows
- Proficient in Epic EHR systems with strong documentation skills
- Excellent communication skills for high-stress patient interactions
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- ENPC certification highly desirable
