Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols
- Make critical decisions on patient prioritization based on acuity
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for care coordination
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and triage documentation
- Provide compassionate care to patients and families during high-stress situations
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Train new staff on triage procedures and department protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years ER or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication abilities with diverse populations
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Experience with Epic EMR system preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
