Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity using standardized triage protocols (ESI, ATP)
- Prioritize patients based on clinical urgency and resource availability
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to coordinate immediate care
- Maintain accurate electronic health records with detailed assessments
- Educate patients and families on emergency department processes
- Oversee patient flow and departmental surge capacity
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New York State
- 3+ years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with 5+ years experience considered)
- Strong proficiency in Epic EMR systems
- Exceptional communication and de-escalation skills
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
