Responsibilities
- Assess patients' medical conditions via phone and in-person triage to determine urgency and appropriate care level
- Provide clear medical guidance to patients and families while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate seamless patient flow
- Document all interactions accurately in Epic EHR systems with precision and timeliness
- Manage high-volume calls during peak hours while maintaining exceptional service standards
- Implement emergency protocols for critical situations including stroke and cardiac events
- Mentor new staff on triage procedures and departmental best practices
Qualifications
- Current Ohio RN license with unrestricted practice privileges
- BSN degree preferred; ADN candidates with 3+ years ED experience considered
- Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience in emergency/urgent care setting
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Exceptional critical thinking and rapid decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in Epic EHR systems and telehealth triage platforms
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure in high-volume scenarios
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
