Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments via telephone and in-person triage to determine the urgency of medical needs.
- Make immediate clinical decisions to route patients to appropriate levels of care (ER, Urgent Care, or physician office).
- Document all triage encounters accurately and promptly within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Provide clear, empathetic instructions to patients regarding medications, self-care, and follow-up appointments.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical guidelines, protocols, and community resources.
- Manage high call volumes efficiently while maintaining high-quality patient satisfaction scores.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered RN license in the State of Ohio.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience, with specific experience in triage, telehealth, or urgent care preferred.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to make sound clinical judgments under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Proficiency in navigating EMR software and electronic documentation systems.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by the department.
