Join our award-winning emergency department team at Sunrise Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center in the heart of Las Vegas! We're seeking a compassionate and skilled Triage Nurse to be the first point of contact for our patients. As a key member of our rapid-response team, you'll leverage your clinical expertise to prioritize care, stabilize critical cases, and deliver exceptional patient experiences in our state-of-the-art 24/7 facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) to determine acuity levels
- Initiate immediate interventions for life-threatening conditions including cardiac arrest, stroke, and trauma
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to develop efficient treatment pathways
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EHR systems while ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Provide compassionate family communication during high-stress emergency situations
- Mentor junior staff on triage protocols and departmental standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Nevada with minimum 2 years ED experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Expertise in ESI triage scale and emergency pharmacology
- Proven ability to maintain composure under extreme pressure
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Emergency Nurse Certification (ENPC) preferred
- Experience with electronic health records (Epic preferred)
- Spanish fluency highly desirable
