Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments via phone and in-person to determine medical acuity and urgency.
- Utilize provided diagnostic equipment to interpret symptoms and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
- Document all triage encounters accurately and timely in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care coordinators to ensure seamless patient flow.
- Provide clear, empathetic health education and medication instructions to patients and families.
- Monitor patient status and escalations, ensuring timely intervention.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Louisiana Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience with specific triage or emergency room experience.
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications must be current.
- Proficient in EMR/EHR software (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
