Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment for procedures, ensuring a sterile environment.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain a sterile field for surgical patients and monitor vital signs.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure patient safety.
- Handle and transport specimens accurately to the laboratory.
- Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately in medical records.
- Collaborate effectively with the nursing and anesthesia teams.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (CST) credential required.
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
