Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive telephone triage assessments for patients across all age groups
- Utilize clinical judgment to prioritize urgent cases and provide appropriate care recommendations
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients on home care instructions and when to seek further medical attention
- Manage high call volumes efficiently while maintaining empathy and professionalism
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Louisiana (or compact state license)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (ER/urgent care preferred)
- Valid BLS certification; ACLS strongly preferred
- Exceptional communication and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency with EHR systems and telehealth platforms
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
- Flexibility to cover varied shifts including nights and weekends
