Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive telephone triage assessments for patients presenting with acute and chronic symptoms.
- Provide accurate medical advice, educate patients on self-care management, and recommend appropriate follow-up care or referrals.
- Document patient encounters accurately and securely in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and resolve complex patient issues.
- Maintain a high level of clinical knowledge and stay updated on evidence-based triage protocols and guidelines.
- Assess the urgency of patient needs and make critical decisions regarding emergency intervention versus home care.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California (or compact state if working remotely).
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a preference for experience in ER, ICU, or Triage.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems.
- Commitment to patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
