Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough telephone and secure messaging assessments to evaluate patient symptoms and determine the appropriate level of care.
- Provide accurate medical advice, symptom management strategies, and appropriate referrals to physicians or specialists.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all triage encounters in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA guidelines and hospital triage protocols to ensure patient privacy and safety.
- Collaborate with the medical team to streamline patient flow and reduce wait times in the clinic.
- Handle high-volume call volumes with patience, empathy, and clear communication.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience, preferably in triage, urgent care, or emergency room settings.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize multiple patients simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for remote and phone-based interactions.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth).
