Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive initial assessments of patient symptoms and medical histories to determine acuity levels and appropriate triage categories.
- Manage patient flow and queue efficiently to minimize wait times while ensuring critical cases are seen immediately.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and triage decisions accurately and in compliance with medical standards.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and advanced practice providers to develop appropriate treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Provide clear, empathetic patient education regarding symptoms, home care, and follow-up appointments.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, infection control measures, and regulatory compliance.
- Support the nursing staff with administrative tasks and patient advocacy.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered RN license to practice in the State of Texas.
- BSN or Associate Degree in Nursing required; Masterβs degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in emergency nursing, urgent care, or triage is strongly preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as needed.
