Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols
- Triage patients based on medical urgency and acuity level
- Collaborate with physicians to establish treatment priorities
- Document patient encounters accurately in EMR systems
- Provide initial interventions and stabilize critical cases
- Coordinate care transitions between departments
- Maintain compliance with TJC and HIPAA standards
- mentor new staff on triage protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (TX)
- Minimum 2 years ER/trauma experience
- ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficient in ESI triage methodology
- Exceptional communication and decision-making skills
- Experience with Epic/Cerner EMR systems
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts in fast-paced environments
- Bachelor's in Nursing preferred
