Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using Emergency Severity Index (ESI) protocols
- Prioritize patient cases based on acuity and available resources
- Coordinate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for seamless care transitions
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Provide critical education to patients and families regarding emergency protocols
- Manage high-volume triage during peak hours and disaster scenarios
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives for emergency department efficiency
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Florida (or compact state eligibility)
- Minimum 3 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Strong communication abilities in high-stress situations
- BSN degree or higher (MSN preferred)
- Experience with ESI triage protocols mandatory
