Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive telephone and video triage assessments to determine the acuity of patient symptoms.
- Document patient interactions accurately and in real-time using the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Evaluate patient complaints, prioritize care needs, and provide appropriate medical advice or facilitate appointments.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other care team members to ensure seamless patient transitions.
- Utilize clinical protocols and evidence-based guidelines to make critical decisions regarding patient management.
- Handle high-volume call volumes while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor and high patient satisfaction scores.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff education regarding triage best practices.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Minnesota.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) considered with significant experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a clinical setting, preferably in triage or a similar acute care role.
- Experience with Epic EHR or similar electronic medical record systems is highly desirable.
- Certification as a BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) is required.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical information clearly.
