Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with precision and minimal discomfort.
- Greet patients warmly, verify identities, and explain procedures to ensure a comfortable experience.
- Label, log, and process blood specimens accurately for laboratory analysis, adhering to strict chain-of-custody protocols.
- Maintain a clean and sterile work environment, strictly following OSHA and infection control guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and laboratory technologists to ensure seamless patient care.
- Manage inventory of supplies and notify supervisors of needed equipment.
Qualifications
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Current, valid California Phlebotomy License (CPT) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Previous experience in a clinical setting or outpatient lab environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with diverse patient populations.
- High school diploma or GED required.
