Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough phone and in-person triage assessments to determine the urgency of patient conditions.
- Execute treatment plans and provide detailed medical instructions to patients and families.
- Document patient histories, symptoms, and care plans accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure seamless patient transitions.
- Manage incoming calls from patients regarding symptoms, medication questions, and appointment scheduling.
- Evaluate patient needs and recommend appropriate levels of care (home care, urgent care, or emergency room).
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience, preferably in a triage or emergency department setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to de-escalate high-stress situations.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Strong clinical decision-making abilities and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
