Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone consultations to determine medical urgency
- Triage incoming calls according to established protocols and acuity levels
- Coordinate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure timely patient care
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Provide clear patient education regarding treatment plans and next steps
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during critical situations
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and hospital policies
Qualifications
- Active RN license (or actively pursuing)
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in emergency situations
- Basic computer proficiency for EMR systems
- Completion of accredited nursing program or equivalent
- Passion for patient-centered care
- Spanish bilingual preferred (required for some shifts)
- Willingness to complete hospital-specific triage training
