Responsibilities
- Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Evaluate patient symptoms via phone to determine the urgency of care and appropriate medical response.
- Facilitate Patient Care: Route patients to the appropriate care setting, including emergency rooms, urgent care centers, or physician appointments.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient interactions, triage decisions, and medical histories in electronic health records (EHR).
- Provider Collaboration: Communicate critical findings and care recommendations to on-call physicians and providers.
- Policy Adherence: Ensure all triage protocols and HIPAA regulations are strictly followed during patient interactions.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nevada.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience, with specific experience in triage or telephone nursing preferred.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to de-escalate stressful situations and explain complex medical concepts clearly.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency with electronic health record systems and computer applications.
