Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments via phone and triage systems to determine medical urgency
- Collaborate with physicians to develop appropriate care plans for emergency and non-emergency cases
- Maintain accurate documentation in EHR systems while adhering to HIPAA compliance standards
- Provide clear medical guidance to patients and families during critical decision-making moments
- Coordinate patient flow between departments to ensure timely and efficient care delivery
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage protocols
- Mentor junior staff on best practices in emergency nursing and crisis management
Qualifications
- Active California RN license with unrestricted status
- Minimum 3 years of ER or urgent care experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications mandatory
- Proficiency in Epic or similar EHR triage systems
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Demonstrated experience with pediatric and geriatric patient populations
- Strong conflict resolution skills in high-stress environments
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
