Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions using standardized triage protocols and prioritize emergency cases
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans
- Document patient assessments, vital signs, and medical histories accurately
- Provide emotional support to patients and families during high-stress situations
- Maintain efficient patient flow while ensuring compliance with emergency department protocols
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for emergency care
- Educate patients on treatment plans and discharge instructions
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New York State
- Minimum 3 years of emergency department experience
- ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Strong assessment skills with ability to make critical decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with electronic health records (EPIC preferred)
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
