Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions and prioritize care based on acuity levels using standardized protocols
- Provide accurate telephone triage for patients seeking medical advice and emergency care
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop efficient patient care plans
- Document patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records in EHR systems
- Delicate patient education on self-care and when to seek additional medical attention
- Monitor and manage patient flow to optimize department efficiency and reduce wait times
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and hospital policies for confidentiality and safety
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in emergency or triage settings
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EPIC preferred)
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
