Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity and prioritize emergency cases using established protocols
- Provide expert medical advice via phone triage for diverse patient populations
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to coordinate patient flow
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in EHR systems
- Educate patients on home care and when to seek emergency care
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for triage processes
Qualifications
- Active NY RN license with minimum 2 years emergency department experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (TNCC preferred)
- Proven expertise in rapid patient assessment and critical thinking
- Strong communication skills for high-stress interactions
- Experience with Epic EHR systems preferred
- Ability to adapt quickly in dynamic healthcare environments
