Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments to determine medical urgency and prioritize care delivery
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to develop appropriate treatment plans
- Document patient encounters accurately in EMR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Provide compassionate patient education on treatment protocols and discharge instructions
- Monitor department workflow and adjust resource allocation based on patient acuity
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance triage accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain strict adherence to hospital protocols and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Current Missouri RN license with unrestricted status
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- Active BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications
- Proficiency in emergency triage protocols (ESI, 5-level systems)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective patient communication
- Experience with Epic or Cerner EMR systems
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
