Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols
- Triage patients based on acuity levels and clinical judgment
- Coordinate with physicians, charge nurses, and ancillary departments
- Document patient encounters accurately in EMR systems
- Provide clear communication to patients/families during emergency situations
- Maintain compliance with TJC and state healthcare regulations
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active CA RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years ED or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Proficient in ESI triage methodology
- Strong clinical assessment skills
- Ability to work under pressure with sound decision-making
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Spanish bilingual skills highly valued
