Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with precision and a patient-first approach.
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA safety standards, CLIA regulations, and infection control protocols.
- Verify patient identity and accurately label specimens to ensure proper chain of custody.
- Interact professionally with patients to explain procedures and alleviate anxiety.
- Manage and inventory blood collection supplies and equipment.
- Document all collection data accurately into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure timely specimen delivery.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required.
- Current and valid Kentucky State Phlebotomy License.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
- Proficiency in using computer terminals and medical software.
