Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and prioritize cases based on urgency using standardized triage protocols
- Provide accurate medical advice to patients via phone, telehealth, and in-person consultations
- Collaborate with physicians and emergency department staff to coordinate patient care
- Maintain detailed electronic health records while ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Administer initial emergency interventions as per standing orders
- Monitor patient flow and department resource allocation
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current California RN license (or eligible to obtain immediately)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience (ER/urgent care preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (or willingness to obtain during training)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills in English (Spanish bilingual a plus)
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Proficiency with EHR systems (training provided for specific platforms)
