Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, cosmetic, and surgical treatments
- Prepare and sterilize instruments while maintaining strict OSHA compliance protocols
- Manage patient flow and chairside assistance with exceptional efficiency
- Capture and maintain accurate digital dental records using PracticeWorks software
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide under dentist supervision
- Execute infection control protocols in operatory and lab areas
- Coordinate patient education on oral hygiene procedures
Qualifications
- Current Texas Dental Assistant Radiology certification (DAR) or willingness to obtain immediately
- Minimum 2 years of clinical dental assisting experience
- CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Proficiency in digital imaging and practice management systems
- Exceptional chairside demeanor and patient communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of OSHA and dental board regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent required
