Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rates.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring them safely to and from beds or wheelchairs.
- Prepare and serve meals according to specific dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Communicate any changes in a patient's condition or behavior to the nursing staff immediately.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized environment for all patients and staff.
- Administer prescribed medications under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required in the state of North Carolina.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient advocacy.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as necessary.
- Clean background check and drug screening results required.
