Responsibilities
- Greet and Welcome Patients: Create a positive first impression by warmly welcoming patients to the clinic and checking them in efficiently.
- Assist with Clinical Procedures: Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist providers during patient examinations and minor procedures.
- Take Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rate.
- Patient Education: Provide patients with educational materials and instructions regarding medications, diets, and post-care procedures.
- Manage Records: Maintain and update patient medical records and charts, ensuring all documentation is accurate and confidential.
- Coordinate Appointments: Schedule patient appointments and manage incoming calls in a professional and organized manner.
- Assist with Lab Work: Collect and prepare blood samples or other specimens for lab testing under strict hygiene protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a Medical Assistant program is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level roles.
- Experience: No prior professional experience required; we train the right candidates.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong customer service orientation with a compassionate and professional demeanor.
- Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills and the ability to learn electronic health record (EHR) systems quickly.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
- License: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred or willing to obtain upon hire.
