Responsibilities
- Perform Clinical Duties: Assist providers with patient exams, prepare treatment rooms, and ensure a clean, safe environment for patients.
- Vital Signs & Vitals: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration).
- Phlebotomy & Specimens: Collect blood samples and other specimens for lab testing following strict safety protocols and OSHA guidelines.
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and update medical records in the EMR system.
- Medication Assistance: Prepare medications and vaccines under the direct supervision of a nurse or physician.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient status and care plans.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and valid Ohio Medical Assistant (MA) or CMA (AAMA) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office or hospital setting preferred.
- License: Valid state driver's license and proof of immunizations (MMR, TB, Hep B).
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Skills: Proficient in computer systems (Epic or similar EMR experience is a plus).
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently during night shifts.
