Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Assistant to perform essential clinical and administrative duties. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive the highest quality of care during their visits.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine administrative and clinical duties, including patient intake, vitals measurement, and charting.
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting providers and ensuring patient comfort and privacy.
- Assist physicians and nurses during procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are prepared.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws, urinalysis, and EKGs, following strict safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) and medical histories.
- Coordinate patient scheduling, manage incoming inquiries, and process insurance referrals accurately.
- Ensure the examination rooms are clean, stocked, and sanitized in compliance with health regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as required by the department.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) is a plus.
